Microsoft Ending Support For Internet Explorer

7 Jan 2016

Whats this? Microsoft is ENDING SUPPORT for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 next week. FINALLY!

It’s said that Microsoft ending support is to encourage people to upgrade to the latest version, which is a blessing to us Web Designers who are always working with clients who are still clinging onto the old versions.

Personally, here at Web Designers Glasgow, we are all Apple mad. We do all of our work on Apple Macs and get a bit to excited whenever a new iPhone comes out. But of course not everyone is the same and some people don’t like to change once they get used to a PC.

The exact same thing goes for internet browsers. We all use Google Chrome. And on occasion we use Firefox to check how a website looks online. Internet Explorer was one of the first biggest browsers, so we do understand that people get used to using it.

Microsoft Ending Support IS for the Better

We are super glad that Microsoft is finally getting rid of old versions as it makes things easier for us, but it will also make things so much easier for the user.

Technology is advancing more or less every single day and it’s time to start moving on with it. It will make things run faster, and if you are using any of the soon to be obsolete versions of Internet Explorer then you will be a security risk. It’s just not worth it.

Be Safe On the Internet

You will still be able to use the browser of course, but the reasons why not to use the older versions out weigh any reasons to keep them. They are ending support which means that these older versions will no longer receive security updates or any kind of technical support, which means that hackers will target these users more easily as you will be much more vulnerable.

In the line of work in Web Design, hackers are the biggest enemy (other than slow wifi..)

You need to keep all of your data safe, and the best way to do that is to keep up to date with the latest updates in softwares and technology.

Of course, you could just switch to a different browser altogether, but as I’ve said before, hundreds of people like to just stick to what they know and wont want to switch. So upgrade – it’ll be worth it in the long run.
